I need to share what Boris did for me. I know the connection between Nicole and I gets talked about a lot. It looked so good in the movie because it is that good or even better, in real life. But Boris and I had a connection too. A really important one. . Right away, Boris was really kind and funny. He just seemed like the coolest guy to me and I really wanted to impress him. I knew I was a good actor but I really didn't want to let him down. Boris never said anything negative to me, ever. Even a couple times when I knew I was a little confused, he said "you got this, Nik" and he'd help me work through it the best he could. Every time my day was done, he said "good job, Nik!" Even when things got really crazy with thunderstorms and power outages and an active shooter in the neighborhood, he was still calm and patient with me. And he gave great hugs! I am used to this from my mom and a few other great women in my life but this was the first time I experienced it from a man or father figure. In this video, I had just shot my last scene on our last night of filming. I was happy but also sad because I knew it was about to be time to go home. And I knew this would likely be my last "Boris hug" and I didn't want to let go. Boris said to me, . "I'm so proud of you. You did so good. I'm so proud of you. I love you. You're awesome." . Thank you, Boris. Thank you for the encouragement. Thank you for the hugs. (I'm glad it wasn't really my last one) Thank you for believing in me and giving me confidence and courage to be me every day, on and off set. Your kids are really lucky and Dr. King would be proud. 🤗🤗🤗 . -Nik . #SafeRoom #BorisKodjoe #BestDirector #GreatMan #Lifetime #MLK
