Last night, I watched Poor Things, which was possibly the most innovative, unexpected, brilliant movie I’ve seen in a long time. Emma Stone is absolutely riveting. The direction, the cinematography, the screenplay, the cast, the art direction, the costume design… It just blew me away on every level. I can’t stop thinking about it.
Without giving anything away, there’s a scene in a fantastical Paris at the turn of the century, where we glimpse the Eiffel Tower in the background, midway under construction. I always appreciate those little details. And this evening, as I was walking home from coffee with a friend, I noticed the clouds obscuring the top of the tower and I had to get the shot. So, I’m just going to think of this as my interpretation of Paris, circa 1888. Enjoy.
