Samyuktha Viswanathan Instagram – Keeping it real #1: I’ve always wanted my Instagram to reflect real-ness, a dash of personal stuff, professional of course, vulnerability—a mirror of sorts (as much as possible in this skewed digital world). On that note, I’ve (impulsively) decided to start this series. So, I can take a breather from what my IG is supposed to be and what it can be and then walk the tightrope that is the balance in between. ⚖️
To begin off, here I am, at my friend @vikas_rao’s @signature_movement_space where I was able to get back in touch with practicing dance and rehearsing military style over and over. Having the studio to myself and Vikas ready to jump in to break down the more complicated steps (he’s been doing that forever)—was truly liberating.
I was a ballerina since I was 8, obsessed with perfection but never truly being able to attain it. And then, a devastating injury followed by painful rehab. Acting, contemporary and lyrical dance allowed me to breathe my own life and heart into this artform and it changed my life.
Do I still wish I could be perfect at the arabesques and attitudes and pirouettes? Absolutely. But for now, this will do 🤍
Swipe to the end for a major throwback to see where acting and dance actually fused together for me :’)
