Dear friends and family,
In the end of 2023, Asher was diagnosed with a rare severe genetic disorder named Angelman Syndrome. These individuals with AS usually have a happy demeanour, are non-verbal, have challenges with mobility and cognitive abilities, and are prone to seizures. Finding out about his disorder broke our hearts and we grieved for the healthy child we once imagined, running, playing music, going to college, but it also gave us a clearer direction in ways to support him in the future.
After doing a couple of relative tests, we found out that his condition was randomly genetically mutated and was falsely identified as negative during early pregnancy tests, but this gives us insight into family planning in the future.
Although Asher is living with disabilities, we could not ask for a more perfect baby son. He has given us so much joy, and the happiness we have together far outweighs the worries and grief. Asher is a fighter, and we are very proud of his achievements. We understand that caregiving to a special needs child can be isolating, and we want other caregivers to know that they are not alone in this journey. Together we must stand up for our children and help them fight for a better future and a better quality of life. We are very positive and hopeful that in the near future there will be a cure for rare diseases.
We are very grateful for our friends and doctors’ support since we received the diagnosis, especially 旦哥 @happyeggba and the 健康旦 @hieggohieggo team which allowed us to raise awareness for Angelman Syndrome. 🫂
Happy 2nd birthday to our son Asher, who has brought nothing but joy to our lives, your laughter brings us so much strength everyday. We wish you will have a healthy and fulfilling year. We believe in your strength and resilience, and we know you have the power to overcome any obstacles that are in your way and we’ll be forever by your side💓 we love you so much baby Asher!

知道Asher患上天使綜合症之後，我們認識了許多本地的天使家庭。才了解到目前在香港，大概只有60個確診案例，和很多其他罕見病患者一樣，社會關注度相對較少。
作為父母、作為演藝工作者，我們希望能出一分力，讓社會大眾加深對天使綜合症的認識，所以我們希望籌備一個慈善演唱會，透過音樂去呈現罕見病家庭的故事，令大家更加了解天使綜合症之餘，亦對不同界別人士更為體諒。
有賴各界有心人的支持，今次慈善演唱會門票所得收益，將全數撥捐予3個受惠機構：「香港天使綜合症基金會」、「F.A.S.T.」 以及慈善演唱會協辦商「雲彩行動」。
在此特別感謝幾位義不容辭答應幫忙的朋友，包括：音樂總監 Johnny Yim（嚴勵行），演出歌手蘇永康、方力申、JW王灝兒、小肥以及RegenC.
感激大家對我們的鼓勵和支持，不過除了我們一家以外，還有很多罕見病患者以及其家庭的聲音等待被聽見。一步一步來，希望終有一天大家都能無所顧慮站出來，讓罕見能被看見。
