For many black women, our hair is more than just a physical feature—it’s a reflection of our identity, culture, and heritage. Throughout my life, I’ve experimented with various hairstyles, celebrating the versatility that comes with black hair. From sleek bobs to intricate braids, each style has allowed me to express different facets of my personality and creativity. This exploration of diverse looks has been both playful and empowering, reinforcing the notion that black hair is incredibly versatile and capable of adapting to any aesthetic or occasion. As I grow older, embracing my natural curls has taught me to appreciate them. Nurturing my curls feels like I’m nurturing my younger self, and to me that is therapeutic. What hairstyles do you typically gravitate towards, and what meaning or importance do they hold for you?
