Nature will forever be my teacher. ⛰️🤎 I’ve been feeling the Universe’s call to lean into certain aspects of life and leave others where they are. Sometimes the “call” is more like a bullhorn when the whispers just don’t cut it but I’m truly grateful for this climb to new beautfiul heights.

I was wearing my Grandmas gold angel pin on my shirt the other day (and if you know me you know how much my Grandma meant to me) Mecca asked me what it was so I explained it and told him I wear it sometimes when I want to feel her close to me. He asked if he could wear it so I pinned it on his collar and he told me.. “She’s in Heaven…she’s looking for a house.” I said “oh yeah…what color do you think her house would be in Heaven?” To which he replied “It’s bright pink.” 💗 Interestingly enough vibrant fuscia was by farrr her favorite color, including that of her bedroom walls when she passed. For some reason hearing it made me emotional, in the happiest of ways, because he was so right and I let him know that. That night I laid in bed with him and out of nowhere he said “Your Grandma wants us to look at the ceiling.” So we did. Then he told me…”she wanted me to tell you something. She wanted me to say ‘Just be who you’re meant to be.’”🥹❤️😭 The way he said it was so clear and specific. I had no words. When I could get some together I said “I wish you could’ve met her, she was a really special lady.” And he calmly said “I have met her.” I asked him where he met her and he had this look on his face of an almost dropped in recall and he said “I went to her birthday party…but it was a long time ago. It’s hard for me to remember.” I asked him if he was in his body or a different body to which he matter of factly told me he was in a different body. I tried to ask who he was and he couldn’t figure it out so I just said was it a girl or boy body. Again without hesitation he said “it was a girl body but now I’m in a boy body and I’m Mecca.” 🥰 I share this to say;I truly feel children have so much wisdom within them partly because they are so close to the vail of beyond what we can see. Listen to them. Ask questions that give space for them to answer without bias and see what comes out of it. Grateful for this visit from my Grandma which seems to be an extended stay as you can see in these pictures from yesterday. Watch that spirit move in the love exchange. ✨👀 Love you Grandma…glad to know you2have met. And I promise I WILL “Just be who Im meant to be.”😍

Here is a perfect example of Spring/Summer footwear! Shoutout to @nativeshoes for making something so lightweight, versatile, EASY TO TRAVEL WITH, and incredibly comfortable. Now comfortable shoes always feeeeel good…but you know what makes them feel even better? Knowing that they are not harming the Earth in the process. 🌱🌍The Jefferson style Native Shoes are made from Sugarlite material which is a sugarcane derived resin….so yep you can literally say this is a sweet piece of footwear. And Mecca and I can match?!..psshhhh I meeean…I’ll take em all!

I feel like a theme that keeps coming up for 2023 is discipline…and more specifically discipline as a form of self love. A great way to explore that (in my opinion) is by leaning into the uncomfortable. By proactively going towards and even finding JOY in what you may not necessarily “want” to do, you train your brain to remain in a state of presence, pleasure, and gratitude. For example sitting in freezing cold water. Is it comfortable? Not really.🥶 Is it beneficial?..Tremendously. Aaand with it already being cold outside it’s a perfect way to reclaim it, be one with it, and celebrate it on my own terms🏆. So here’s a lil DIY for anyone looking to take the plunge into some invigorating happiness.🧊🛀🏾❄️
Benefits can include:.
Increases your happiness by releasing norepinephrine
Boosts your immune system.
Combats inflammation and arthritis with anti-Inflammatory properties.
Boosts your metabolism.
Improves your circulation.
Promotes lymphatic drainage.
Stimulate the vagus nerve.
Increases thermogenesis (control your own heat).
Heightens your discipline and focus.
Disclaimer: you probably don’t need to do this, but to be safe I would suggest unplugging the freezer while sitting in it. Although we’re looking for a jolt of energy, it’s probably better that it’s not from🔌⚡️

Days like yesterday help affirm that community has the capacity to move as beautifully and supportively as the Earth in its purest form. Both can provide such nourishment, joy, support, safety, healing, and eeeaaaase when we pour into it…this is what we should strive for.🌍🫂
