Brandon Prust Instagram - A lot of ppl asking how I injured my shoulder so bad. Obviously just a lot of wear and tear from all the fights. Believe it or not my left was was my most active arm in fighting. Pulling guys around and getting them off balance and throwing lots of jabs that don’t inflict much damage but keep them annoyed and frustrated. This left arm potentially saved my life and most importantly saved my face! Thank you for keeping me beautiful left shoulder 😂 Also when I body checked I used my left shoulder probably 75% of the time. These 3 clips are the bigger shoulder injuries I had. #1 fight with Mike Rupp @rupper1771 . Not the smartest fighting someone 6’6 240lbs lol but I like a challenge. We had an ok bout and then rupper kinda lost his balance and fell backwards. Dumb me trying to prove a point to the Penguins bench which the fight was right in front of, I tried staying on my feet to prove that I put him down, we didn’t just fall down, he did! As u can see from the damage to my jersey and how my shoulder pad is out, my actual shoulder joint would of taken the same abuse. This was my 1st shoulder torn labrum. I played with it for 4 more months. A shot of toradol in the ass b4 every game. Had surgery 3 days after we lost out in playoffs. #2 me being dumb again and trying to chase an icing. Looks innocent but those end boards in Tampa don’t move. I basically ran into a brick wall. Was expecting some give. That was my grade 2 ac joint separation, and the reason they removed 10 mm’s of bone from my clavicle in surgery yesterday. #3 fight with Tom Wilson @tomwilson . We had lost a couple games in a row so I came out to spark my team. I knew Tom was trying to make his mark in the league so I knew he would say yes. Wish he didn’t lol we had a good bout. No crazy damage to shoulder but it hurt the rest of the year so I for sure did something! So now it’s just all catching up to me. Hole in my humorous, arthritis, and ac joint just removed yesterday so it doesn’t grind anymore. Hope that answers everyone’s questions! And thanks for all the love, sorry if I didn’t get to respond to all of you, I do appreciate the kind messages 🙏 ❤️

Brandon Prust Instagram - My first year with the Habs and my 1st time in Boston in a Habs uniform. I know it’s our #1 rivalry. We are down 2 1 in the 2nd and not playing very well. I definitely don’t want to fight lucic because he’s a killer but I need to let the bruins and my teammates know I’m full in on this rivalry. We drop em and I just tried to not get killed. And maybe get lucky if he makes a mistake or 2. He doesn’t really make a mistake because he doesn’t make many. HE also knows I can take advantage of ppl’s mistakes lol (I did win our 1st fight 😉) .. but we had a spirited bout at the end of our shifts, so not super exciting lol but the boys loved it and respected it. That’s when I officially became a Hab in that dressing room. But the best was yet to come. 1 of my favourite moments as a hockey player. Michel Therrien and I had a great relationship. 1 of my favourite coaches. But we also butted heads sometimes. Only because we were both passionate about winning and also both stubborn assholes. His speech in the 2nd intermission was 1 of the most respectful and emotional moments of my career. Cherry on top, we came back and won 3 2! The moment when I truly became a Montreal Canadien.

Brandon Prust Instagram - Always my favourite way to start a hockey game!! If you’re a hockey fan then I’m sure you remember this Rangers/Devils line brawl at the opening face off! The 6 of us are going to jump on a zoom session and tell all of our different sides to the stories that go with this. Probably one of the last ever line brawls to start a game. Well at least in the NHL anyway.. I heard of a couple pond hockey games this past winter that started this way! 😂
Brandon Prust Instagram - My boy @rinaldozac asked me to show one of our fights. And rightfully so! I battled with this man almost more than anyone. We had mad respect for each other and had mad respect for the game, our teams and our teammates. He asked me for this fight in Montreal when we up 3 0. There is no reason to fight him here. But I respect what he’s trying to do. I know that if we play in philly later this year, he will give me a fight if i need one. Because that’s his character. He knows he owes me one... I also hated turning down a fight. If both benches know that he’s asking me. And If I say no to him, now he owns the ice and so does his team. They all just watched Montreal’s toughest guy cower away. The ice is theirs.. I could never left that happen. Reason I never said no. Zac n I did some things in our career, which we wish we could take back. But our passion n heart sometimes got the best of us. Ok maybe some aggression issues also 😂🤬👊🏻 lol @rinaldozac I will never forget our battles together! They were more epic then ppl will ever understand. Inside the game stuff, most ppl will never know. And we did it for everyone other than ourselves... Respect bro ✊🏻
Brandon Prust Instagram - Another fight story for you guys and girls! Had a lot of battles with this guy. 1 of the toughest and best fighters I always faced. Never looked forward to playing him 😂🤦🏼‍♂️ he had the edge in most of our fights but I won a couple. This was not 1 of those fights for me lol but it did help us win the series. We were down 1 0 in the game and 3 2 in the series and back in Ottawa. I tried to give us a spark with a fight early on but no one would give it to me. Rightfully so because they didn’t want us getting any momentum. The only way to get a fight? Hit their best player... I took a nice run at Karlsson and made a noticeably big hit. Sure enough next shift I got what I was looking for. If u watch the start Neil and Konopka are basically arguing at who gets to fight me 😂 now at this time I had been playing with a busted finger for about three months. Had a torn tendon in my left hand, the hand I grab with. Which is the most important hand in a hockey fight, if ur looking to not get killed lol that finger still doesn’t bend to this day. It’s toast. I wasn’t even shooting in practice by the end of the year, it hurt so bad. So I knew this wasn’t gonna be a good fight for me. Neil was tough enough to fight already, even at 100%. I basically knew I was gonna get shit kicked. But I had no other choice. My favourite part of this video and even the camera misses the end of it.. Torts is cheering more than anyone on the team. He knows this is what we needed. He walked all the way from the forward end to pat me on the back as I skated off the ice. Pretty cool moment for me. Hope u guys enjoy the stories behind the fights!

Brandon Prust Instagram - It has been a pretty emotional week with @bp8fitness finally opening. I’ve found myself sitting alone sometimes in my gym and having similar feelings as I did when I made the NHL, ‘wow, I actually made it’. I remember thinking in my mid 20’s that when I retired from hockey I was going to train a younger generation of athletes and help them reach their full potential. And now we’ve even added helping anyone and everyone in the community achieve their health and fitness goals! This also comes with a hell of a lot of gratefulness. The team I have around me that made this dream come true have made me realize just how lucky I am 🙏 Thank you to everyone that has helped me on this journey. Believe it or not my left was was my most active arm in fighting. Pulling guys around and getting them off balance and throwing lots of jabs that don’t inflict much damage but keep them annoyed and frustrated. This left arm potentially saved my life and most importantly saved my face! Thank you for keeping me beautiful left shoulder 😂 Also when I body checked I used my left shoulder probably 75% of the time. These 3 clips are the bigger shoulder injuries I had. #1 fight with Mike Rupp @rupper1771 . Not the smartest fighting someone 6’6 240lbs lol but I like a challenge. We had an ok bout and then rupper kinda lost his balance and fell backwards. Dumb me trying to prove a point to the Penguins bench which the fight was right in front of, I tried staying on my feet to prove that I put him down, we didn’t just fall down, he did! Zac n I did some things in our career, which we wish we could take back. But our passion n heart sometimes got the best of us. We were down 1 0 in the game and 3 2 in the series and back in Ottawa. I tried to give us a spark with a fight early on but no one would give it to me. Rightfully so because they didn’t want us getting any momentum. The only way to get a fight? Hit their best player... I took a nice run at Karlsson and made a noticeably big hit. Sure enough next shift I got what I was looking for. If u watch the start Neil and Konopka are basically arguing at who gets to fight me 😂 now at this time I had been playing with a busted finger for about three months. Had a torn tendon in my left hand, the hand I grab with. Which is the most important hand in a hockey fight, if ur looking to not get killed lol that finger still doesn’t bend to this day. It’s toast. I wasn’t even shooting in practice by the end of the year, it hurt so bad. So I knew this wasn’t gonna be a good fight for me. Neil was tough enough to fight already, even at 100%. I basically knew I was gonna get shit kicked. But I had no other choice. My favourite part of this video and even the camera misses the end of it.. Torts is cheering more than anyone on the team. He knows this is what we needed. He walked all the way from the forward end to pat me on the back as I skated off the ice. Pretty cool moment for me. Hope u guys enjoy the stories behind the fights!

I’ve found myself sitting alone sometimes in my gym and having similar feelings as I did when I made the NHL, ‘wow, I actually made it’. I remember thinking in my mid 20’s that when I retired from hockey I was going to train a younger generation of athletes and help them reach their full potential. And now we’ve even added helping anyone and everyone in the community achieve their health and fitness goals! This also comes with a hell of a lot of gratefulness.
