Jay Anstey Instagram - FREEBIRTH STORY: 💕 No doctors. No midwife. No doula. No interference. I woke at 1am on a rainy 6th Dec my water had broken. Intense contractions began right away. We had an app that timed my contractions and my mom and dad started filling up the birth pool as they were rapidly getting closer together. After a few hours of walking around (and throwing up twice from pain) I felt it was time to get into the water. It was me in a pool. Breathing through each excruciating contraction. At some point my mom joined and sat at the base of the pool giving me support (and coconut water)! As the hours passed i was now deep in a ‘trance’ focussing on breathing and remaining calm. I felt as she moved into the birthing canal and even though it was very difficult I didn’t push, I just breathed. 10hours had passed and Just when I thought I couldn’t handle the pain any longer I felt she was ready to come. Enter ‘the ring of fire’ - yes it literally feels like it’s on fire 😂🙈 I pushed for 3 contractions and my incredible partner, Sean-Marco, delivered our darling daughter into the world. His hands were the first to touch her and the only faces she looked upon were those of her family. She cried beautifully, we checked her vitals and she was happy and perfect. Everything I had wanted for her. Her perfect birth. 3 hours passed and sadly my placenta decided not to come out. So I had to head to the hospital to remove the placenta surgically. I wasn’t upset that I ended up in hospital because I gave our little one the birth she deserved. Would I freebirth again? 100%. 👏🏼 This post is simply to express and share my journey it comes with zero judgment for however you choose to birth 🙏🏼💕

It definitely feels like the longest 2 and a bit months of my life 🙈 Living in joburg, both our families are at the coast and we don’t have a helper or a nanny so 100% of the parenting is on us. Ayla is a stage 5 clinger and wants to be held all the time. She one day decided that sleeping alone wasn’t for her either and I’ve had to hold her for every nap since… Which is exhausting! 😨 I honestly don’t know how single moms do it… Im heading back to work next week and I couldn’t be more scared…🤣 I’ve heard this is a common thing? Exclusively breastfeeding is a full time job - by far the most rewarding job I’ve ever had - so when hubby gets home we all go outside to take a deep breathe together. Jay Anstey Instagram - I was definitely sceptical at first and read all sorts of information regarding walkers online, so our decision to try a walker was definitely an informed one! Our little girl is highly active and LOVES to stand and bounce on my lap (allllllll day long). She gets plenty of floor play and time to practice her rolling skills but we were looking for another element to spice up her play time! Honest review: We’ve had the @postucarebaby for two months now and Ayla loves the walker. As do we! It’s got great accessories to play with that entertain her, It’s sturdy and well designed and a great option for our little family! She’s not left alone in the walker - I always supervise in a safe closed off area. We don’t leave her in it for extended periods of time which makes it safe and of course the position of the seat is approved by the hip dsyplatia institute. She loves all the toys on the ‘dashboard’ (what we call it) and she tries her best to sing-along with the songs 😂🥰 So to my mamas (and papa’s) looking into a walker- this guy is your way to go. Jay Anstey Instagram - And just like that it’s over. 2 years ago I auditioned for the role of ‘Elizabeth Price’ for a show called “Legacy”. (That’s right!) I then got a callback for Lexi! When I got the gig i wasn’t sure I was gonna do it. It meant moving from the coast to joburg for 9 months and I didn’t know if it was a good idea. But we all know how this story goes… 😉 In the first month we went to Limpopo to shoot the first couple eps. Here is where SeanMarco comes in. A wild, crazy, strange dude who intrigued me and made us all laugh the whole trip. We spoke about life, the universe, our passions and purpose. Here I met my best friend. It was also where I fell in love…. With my co-stars!😂 To my Price Family: 🌻Reandi Grey- You became a sister almost immediately. Our scenes together were always the easiest to shoot- we made up most of our dialogue and had fun with every scene 🙈😉 🌻Mama KG- you are the most graceful, soulful human. Apart from being unbelievably gorgeous your heart is bigger than any I’ve ever experienced. 🌻Mary-Anne- our number one! I’ve known you for years and your talent is insurmountable! Your whimsy and eccentric spirit are a treat! 🌻Neil- uncle G and you are so similar in the way that I can always come to you for advice. To work with such talented cast and crew, to be in Mnets first telenovela and to share our crazy stories with the viewers. It’s surreal that we’ll never be at the ‘Price Mansion’ having a big family breakfast scene again where I get to say a typical Lexi one-liner that makes the rest of the family eye roll. She loved her time watching the monkeys and the birds in the forest! Jay Anstey Instagram - Let’s talk bums! 😂😂 From the moment I found out we were expecting it was a no brainier for me that we were going to use re usable diapers. Every mom told me I wouldn’t go through with it, that they leaked more and were a mission to clean and that within a week I’d be on the disposables. How wrong they were! Bamboo cloth diapers actually leak less, Ayla is so comfortable in them, washing them is easy-peasy and they look way cute btw 😜 Scary facts to consider: 🔍An estimated 3.5 BILLION nappies are tossed into landfills per year. 🔍They introduce feces into ground water. 🔍And take approximately 550 YEARS to decompose!!!! 🤯 That’s just insane. It’s also expensive and adds up over the years, whereas with cloth diapers (if maintained properly) they can last years and even be used for the second baby. We’ve come a long way from the old school cloth nappies! It’s worth investigating for your pocket, the environment and your baba! We got some gorgeous diapers from Bamboo Splash! We had an app that timed my contractions and my mom and dad started filling up the birth pool as they were rapidly getting closer together. After a few hours of walking around (and throwing up twice from pain) I felt it was time to get into the water. It was me in a pool. Breathing through each excruciating contraction. At some point my mom joined and sat at the base of the pool giving me support (and coconut water)! As the hours passed i was now deep in a ‘trance’ focussing on breathing and remaining calm. I felt as she moved into the birthing canal and even though it was very difficult I didn’t push, I just breathed. 10hours had passed and Just when I thought I couldn’t handle the pain any longer I felt she was ready to come. Enter ‘the ring of fire’ - yes it literally feels like it’s on fire 😂🙈 I pushed for 3 contractions and my incredible partner, Sean-Marco, delivered our darling daughter into the world. His hands were the first to touch her and the only faces she looked upon were those of her family. She cried beautifully, we checked her vitals and she was happy and perfect. Everything I had wanted for her. Her perfect birth. 3 hours passed and sadly my placenta decided not to come out. So I had to head to the hospital to remove the placenta surgically. I wasn’t upset that I ended up in hospital because I gave our little one the birth she deserved. Would I freebirth again? 100%. 👏🏼 This post is simply to express and share my journey it comes with zero judgment for however you choose to birth 🙏🏼💕

Our little girl is highly active and LOVES to stand and bounce on my lap (allllllll day long). She gets plenty of floor play and time to practice her rolling skills but we were looking for another element to spice up her play time! Honest review: We’ve had the @postucarebaby for two months now and Ayla loves the walker. As do we! It’s got great accessories to play with that entertain her, It’s sturdy and well designed and a great option for our little family! She’s not left alone in the walker – I always supervise in a safe closed off area. I then got a callback for Lexi! When I got the gig i wasn’t sure I was gonna do it. It meant moving from the coast to joburg for 9 months and I didn’t know if it was a good idea. But we all know how this story goes… 😉 In the first month we went to Limpopo to shoot the first couple eps. Here is where SeanMarco comes in. A wild, crazy, strange dude who intrigued me and made us all laugh the whole trip. We spoke about life, the universe, our passions and purpose. Here I met my best friend. It was also where I fell in love…. With my co-stars!😂 To my Price Family: 🌻Reandi Grey- You became a sister almost immediately. Our scenes together were always the easiest to shoot- we made up most of our dialogue and had fun with every scene 🙈😉 🌻Mama KG- you are the most graceful, soulful human. Apart from being unbelievably gorgeous your heart is bigger than any I’ve ever experienced. 🌻Mary-Anne- our number one! I’ve known you for years and your talent is insurmountable!
