Makenzie Vega Instagram - Just settling into our new home!!!
Slowly but surely it’s becoming ours, especially as Marlo makes her mark on it with blueberry smoothie smears 😂.
It has so many quirky details (like this window) — the house was built in the 1880’s!!!!! So cool to know that so many other families lived their own lives in this house…
Such an incredible thing to think about…
Makes me think about the families after us who will be living THEIR everyday lives in this house — they’ll never know Marlo’s little stomping pitter-patter down the hallway, but it will have happened.
Makes me think about all the other people’s little “Marlos” who pitter-pattered down the halls…. In the 1800’s!!!!

Makenzie Vega Instagram - as this moment actively occurs, I look back at this memory and relive in this experience, over and over.... as many times as i can.
...I want to remember how little you are right now, to look at you and realize that this is the smallest little “You” that I’ll ever know.... to look at each little funny looking Pitter-patter step of yours and take it in for how innocently incredible it is.... and to allow the moment to replay beneath the surface of my senses, reaching each nerve, and filling up the empty space within my lungs, to the fuzzes on the back of my neck.
All at the same time, this feeling is so unbelievably happy, and it’s so unbelievably sad....
I love you so much that it pulls at my heart. I feel like the word that resonates is, “More.” And I feel like when I’m 60 years older it’s the same word that will resonate with me when I think back at this moment with you...
I want to give you More love than I am capable of giving. I want More from myself for you. I’ll wish I spent More time looking at each dimple in your skin.... appreciating how miraculously perfect you were put together.
I wish for “More” from this world for you and I want More kindness from this world for you.... and sensitivity, and open-heartedness.
I want more God from people’s hearts for you.
I just want more for you.
Of myself, of time, of love... of you.

I love you More than I’ll ever be able to tell you or show you... and that’s a melancholy hue that makes everything that much more uniquely felt.... a flaw, or a vulnerability of imperfection... and it allows me to feel each moment with you that much More.

when I was growing up my mom used to take me hiking every single day just before sunset and those are some of the best memories I have…
I still think back to them and how much I learned and how much she taught me… each day another life lesson that she would talk about on the hike… the simplicity of it all warms my heart. chasing the sun up the mountain before it dipped below the other side. It’s a bit of a nostalgic memory, but doing it all over again but with MY little girl is just everything.

66 grams big enough just to not have to go to the NICU :) little trooper.
I remember I was feeling so many things and I just couldn’t find words to describe what it all was! I videoed a little message that I forgot about until today. Neither of us (Blair nor I) could conceptualize just how much we would fall in love with Marlo. It would’ve been impossible to know. :)
but She is just everything.

The thing that draws me closer to the simple perfections in life that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. The little person that keeps me rooted in the “me” that I love most.
This little bug keeps me grounded.

She’ll never have any clue just how much I love her until she has a bubba of her own.
I appreciated and understood my momma so much more after I met Marlo....

🤔Though it definitely made me wonder why on earth I don’t get a phone call from my mom everyday just because I’m so wonderful in her eyes, haha 😂

And also Gotta give a big momma’s day “thank you” to my kind, incredibly thoughtful, loving (and patient) husband. I could not have been blessed with a more gentle human who is such a driving force of a human. I’ve never met anyone with more motivation and “get it done” mentality, who also has a heart full of compassion and vision.

These two were exactly what I needed, exactly when I needed it. And I’m so grateful for how much growth (through ups AND downs) the both of you help me to achieve.
