Rajshri Deshpande Instagram - Here I am standing infront of a river which we recently worked on and thinking that, I never thought that one day I will build schools, rivers and work so extensively for villages or I will be an Actor and travel leading film festivals and win some awards.

Growing up I don’t remember I had dreams of becoming something specific because everyday I wanted to become some or the other person. No career was fixed Because for us surviving was the first priority dream’s always came later. For many years I had confusion what I want, so for few years I kept living boring life and few I kept deconstructing my life and then I found my self in the world of storytelling in the form of an Actor and Social worker which i am doing with passion, love and honesty.

I don’t know how many more villages I will work or how many films or webseries I will do but one thing will always remain is I will keep learning in my life and deal everything with empathy. 🤍

Rajshri Deshpande Instagram - It’s 2 am, I am Sitting alone holding my @criticschoiceindia best actress award, my peace heart symbol of #ceasefiregaza and some tears in my eyes looking outside my window. The moment I reached home I removed my beautiful makeup, the lovely designer dress which I wore today at the awards ceremony and decided to wear my mom’s night gown. The bombay lights are still bright, construction sound is loud in the middle of night and I am thinking how I moved to this crazy dream city, where and how my journey started in not just in cinema but journey of humanity too and how far I have come and how I want to keep working for humanity and my craft.

I stopped my mind immediately and said hey let’s just reminisce this beautiful today’s moment and the love I received. Because Tomorrow’s work is double and I need to gather all the strength. Thankfully my mind agreed and I smiled.

Rajshri Deshpande Instagram - Rajshri Deshpande has received acclaim and awards for her powerful performance as Neelam Krishnamoorthy in Netflix’s Trial By Fire in 2023. The former advertising professional is also a social worker, who, through her non-profit Nabhangan Foundation, takes up causes related to rural rejuvenation and community building. The impact of her foundation’s work now reaches 30 villages in Marathwada, Maharashtra. Rajshri Deshpande Instagram - Finally I met her. I was nervous and I wanted to apologise to her for giving her this world. I looked at the 13 year old eyes with my moist eyes she looked back to me with her twinkling eyes and gave me a beautiful bright smile. As if she wanted to say, ‘You still have time to change this world for us.’

She gave me strength.

But unfortunately It’s been more than a month now and still waiting for justice on POCSO case. Hope her culprits get arrested asap.

Honestly I don’t want to just keep dreaming of that perfect world. And somewhere I understood that I not going to get it if I am only dependent on people, society, politicians or even government. Always waiting for someone else to raise their voice for a sustainable and safe future. If I am dreaming then I will have to work n create that world that tribe who equally wants life where we all live and breathe in peace.

Fortunately there are few dreamers, mentors becomes a guiding light and inspire me with their work. Imagine if every individual takes step and work towards change then the work will be somewhere faster. Isn’t it? Then a 13 year old girl doesn’t have to go through atrocity. She can just study, play and dream a beautiful life for herself.

Rajshri Deshpande Instagram - Theatre is my first love. I spent my entire childhood performing in front of family guests, school play competitions, state level plays, commercial plays, mimicry, being an orchestra dancer and performer…

But when I moved to Pune for my graduation I couldn’t afford to continue because survival was the main focus. Still I did which was possible with my job.

Then when I found a little courage I moved to Bombay to be an Actor but again to survive in a city like Bombay you have to have work. But along with finding commercial work which will support me i still managed little theatre, assisted in Naseer sirs motley group, did some plays with few other wonderful groups. But full time theatre is difficult.

Theatre is foundation and it’s beautiful but unfortunately not affordable. Most of the people manage their day to day jobs and do theatre just because they love that space.

I wish theatre was promoted or compulsory in schools not just in metro cities but in villages too, I wish theatre folk artist gets livelihood facilities, pensions or some benefits so more n more art, craft , literature and music will be promoted. And artists don’t have to worry about their survival and keep their families secure.

I still remember an age old theatre folk artist I met in Aurangabad city many years ago in a xerox center making copies of his certificates. He told me some 1200 rs. month he will get if he submits all this and with a smirk he said I dedicated my entire life on stage but now I am old and helpless. His cloths were torn, face had wrinkles but his eyes were bright. That’s called stage eyes.

Some people say theatre has become rich man’s world and one cannot make a career out of it but unfortunately it’s truth ? Is it true my theatre walas ? Hope the theatre world proves me wrong.

The moment I reached home I removed my beautiful makeup, the lovely designer dress which I wore today at the awards ceremony and decided to wear my mom’s night gown. The bombay lights are still bright, construction sound is loud in the middle of night and I am thinking how I moved to this crazy dream city, where and how my journey started in not just in cinema but journey of humanity too and how far I have come and how I want to keep working for humanity and my craft.

I stopped my mind immediately and said hey let’s just reminisce this beautiful today’s moment and the love I received. Because Tomorrow’s work is double and I need to gather all the strength. Thankfully my mind agreed and I smiled.

Rajshri Deshpande - 1K Likes - Finally I met her. I was nervous and I wanted to apologise to her for giving her this world. I looked at the 13 year old eyes with my moist eyes she looked back to me with her twinkling eyes and gave me a beautiful bright smile. As if she wanted to say, ‘You still have time to change this world for us.’

She gave me strength.

But unfortunately It’s been more than a month now and still waiting for justice on POCSO case. Hope her culprits get arrested asap.

Honestly I don’t want to just keep dreaming of that perfect world. And somewhere I understood that I not going to get it if I am only dependent on people, society, politicians or even government. Always waiting for someone else to raise their voice for a sustainable and safe future. If I am dreaming then I will have to work n create that world that tribe who equally wants life where we all live and breathe in peace.

Fortunately there are few dreamers, mentors becomes a guiding light and inspire me with their work. Imagine if every individual takes step and work towards change then the work will be somewhere faster. Isn’t it? Then a 13 year old girl doesn’t have to go through atrocity. She can just study, play and dream a beautiful life for herself.

Rajshri Deshpande - 1K Likes - Theatre is my first love. I spent my entire childhood performing in front of family guests, school play competitions, state level plays, commercial plays, mimicry, being an orchestra dancer and performer…

But when I moved to Pune for my graduation I couldn’t afford to continue because survival was the main focus. Still I did which was possible with my job.

Then when I found a little courage I moved to Bombay to be an Actor but again to survive in a city like Bombay you have to have work. But along with finding commercial work which will support me i still managed little theatre, assisted in Naseer sirs motley group, did some plays with few other wonderful groups. But full time theatre is difficult.

Theatre is foundation and it’s beautiful but unfortunately not affordable. Most of the people manage their day to day jobs and do theatre just because they love that space.

I wish theatre was promoted or compulsory in schools not just in metro cities but in villages too, I wish theatre folk artist gets livelihood facilities, pensions or some benefits so more n more art, craft , literature and music will be promoted. And artists don’t have to worry about their survival and keep their families secure.

I still remember an age old theatre folk artist I met in Aurangabad city many years ago in a xerox center making copies of his certificates. He told me some 1200 rs. month he will get if he submits all this and with a smirk he said I dedicated my entire life on stage but now I am old and helpless. His cloths were torn, face had wrinkles but his eyes were bright. That’s called stage eyes.

Some people say theatre has become rich man’s world and one cannot make a career out of it but unfortunately it’s truth ? Is it true my theatre walas ? Hope the theatre world proves me wrong.
