Doris Day introduced the song “Que Sera, Sera” in the Alfred Hitchcock film, singing it as a cue to her onscreen kidnapped son. At first, Doris Day refused to record “Que Sera, Sera” as a popular song release, dismissing it as “a forgettable children’s song”.
“Que Sera, Sera” ended up winning the 1956 Academy Award for Best Original Song and became Day’s biggest hit of her recording career and her signature song.
