If you were given wings, just for a day, what would you do? Where would you go?
I wouldn’t take them.
“Why not?”, you say.
If you have me wings for a day, and let me find kinship with the birds and the breeze, amongst whom, I always knew I truly belonged?
If you let me fly away. Above it all, and free. Don’t ask for the wings back. Don’t expect that from me.
For I would rather smash into a cliff, or follow Icarus into the Sun, than once again be land bound.
Either leave me my wings.
Or leave me on the ground.
