Of a river.
Merry as a leaf
Can be.
I don’t care
Where this river goes.
Where my final
Stand will be.
It carries me
Through a world,
I never hoped,
I’d get to see.
I could’ve just
Rotted on the ground.
But the river
Saved me.
I cannot picture
The ocean.
I don’t remember
The tree.
I’m just a leaf
On a river.
What a wonderful
Thing to be.
