New Year’s Prayer plays with pace to create a disruptive sense of movement, oscillating between dynamic sequences and hypnotic moments that unfold in slow motion. Approaching the artistry and emotion of the late artist as a means of expression, the music serves as a starting point for a series of tableaux that tell the story of Buckley’s life through passion, pain, love, success, and tragedy⁠
