The pack’s territory is certainly not a good place to be Pumbaa (or more surprisingly a buffalo!). However, they must hunt to feed their 14 little pups. Twenty years ago, the African wild dog population was estimated at over 500,000. Due to conflict with humans, now less than 7000 remain making them one of Africa’s most endangered predators.
