Bertram Williams Jr. Instagram – Trigger Warning: Grief and Family Transition ⚠️
Since I was young, folks said I reminded them of my Grandfather Benjamin Franklin Lee. Mainly because I walked slow and talked low like Him. Looking back I wonder if my younger self was actually mimicking Him. I certainly was when I took interest in gardening and land stewardship. He was the consummate country gent who raised cattle, pigs, poultry and brought those hot watermelons in from the field. He embodied a type of care that extended beyond him and his family and included the stray cats in the neighborhood, the trees on our farm that were never felled, and everybody in between. He carried a family alongside my Grandmother over the course of 72 years true. In his 97th year it was time for him to “move somewhere.” Now it’s our family’s turn to carry him and his legacy.
