I feel like I know you and that I’m JUST getting to know you at the same time.
13 years ago today, when they said “it’s a boy” I got excited and scared at the same time. How would I teach you about the world? How will I protect you and still get you ready for the world? How would you be?
Your class, the way you love people, how kind you are, and your laugh are things that I’m so proud of! It’s not my job to worry about those things. My job was to teach, train, protect, and provide.
You added all the heart and care to those things.
I have so many accolades and you’re my best creation, son. And I can take no credit because you are special inside and out.
So as you step into being a teenager, you have taught me so much more than I have you. I can’t WAIT to see the man’s you became and also, I CAN WAIT because I want more time with you.
