Check out my photo shoot with @sheng.rain in Shanghai. I told her that I have done thousands of photoshoots in my lifetime and this one was the most special. She came with 3-4 different cameras all using film only. Her Dad was her assistant hold lights and handing her cameras and her baby sister was getting B roll with a Contax point and shoot. All of the pose ideas and locations were her ideas. She really has an amazing sense.

Took a break from filming the Cold War prequels to head over to Cheng Du for the 100 Flowers Film Awards where our film Decoded was the opening film. It was great to be reunited with the cast again but I still didn’t get to watch it because of promotional activities. It opens today so I will buying a ticket to see in the theater soon! Decoded will have a limited North American release at the end of the month.

Based on the critically acclaimed first novel by Mai Jia, Decoded tells the story of a young boy who was at first perceived to be “useless” but was actually a mathematical genius and then eventually recruited to become one of the country’s greatest cryptoanalysts. Director Cheng Si Cheng who broke Chinese box office records with his Detective Chinatown series takes a massive departure in his filmmaking style creating an epic yet intimate story spanning 40 years about Jin Zhen’s journey and his relentless path to finding the answers to all problems presented to him. Excited for the premiere on August 3rd!
I learned to love this track. It is fast with a lot of high speed sweeping turns. If I had more time I could have taken maybe another second out of my time.
