Joe Lycett Instagram – Back in October last year I went along to @duchesschina1888 in Stoke-on-Trent to see how they were getting on with the Slags Vase. It’s a very special sprawling place, steeped in history and so much love for ceramics and their production. I was fortune to meet Gordon who is their master modeller, whose job it was to measure up my original piece-of-shit design and recreate it in bone china. I’d like to apologise to Gordon for making him stoop so low as to recreate my vase. I also got to see their production line and some of the other work they do for the royals, amongst others, and make a mug, which I’m pretty sure I watched someone immediately put into a bin.
It was a total delight working with Gordon, Jason and the team on this project, all beautifully coordinated by @theymadethistagram
