Absolutely gutted. Incredible journalist but even better person. Helluva FF player too. When I 1st got to ESPN Mort was kind & welcoming to me. Not everyone was. Would have been easier to ignore me but he often pulled me aside to give advice or just listen. He was hilarious too. Him roasting Boomer in the War Room are among my fave memories of ESPN. When I got the job at NBC he called me to congratulate me and tell me how sad he was I wasn’t at ESPN anymore but how happy he was for me to be a part of NFL coverage at NBC. RIP to the legend. RIP MORT

Back in the day not everyone was willing to do a FF segment. @mortreport not only was willing to but he did it as he did everything: with enthusiasm, professionalism & kindness. Doing a weekly segment with Mort on NFL Live helped me a lot. Wish I had a better picture of the segment than this. ❤️

Where – despite the fact I worked for ESPN at the time – took me under his wing and showed me around, introduced me to coaches and GM’s and showed me how to “work a Combine.” We’ve had a beer or a meal at every Combine since. I am happy for Peter but so very sad for us at NBC.

So I wanted to take this chance to look back and reflect on the last year of #FFHappyHour and our Sunday show, #FFPregame, our 2nd season of both shows. I am so very grateful to everyone pictured here (and those who aren’t – you know who you are!) who work their asses off to make me look much better than I have any right to. They say it’s work but does it really count as work if all you do is laugh and laugh every single day? I am also thankful for YOU. When I left ESPN i had no idea if people would follow and find me and I am continually blown away by the numbers and texts/DM’s/comments I get about the shows.
