Matthew Hussey Instagram – I started making YouTube videos at around 20 years old (if you swipe left you’ll see THAT me). I literally never knew that anyone would watch them, it was just a wild punt. And yet here we are, 3 million subscribers later. It’s hard to get my head around that number of people. It still makes my day when a single person comes up to me in the street and tells me how much my work has impacted their growth in life, so to imagine 3 million is mind blowing. I don’t think I ever thought I’d still be making videos every week at 36 years old, as a married man living in Los Angeles, while living a completely different life than the me that was filming on park benches in London on a flip cam because I had nowhere else to shoot. I truly believe there to be something special about this particular community. Me and Audrey were doing a live yesterday for our Love Life Club members, and when the cameras turned off, she looked at me and said: “I just love our community, they are such lovely people”. And it’s true, you are. You are intelligent, thoughtful, and kind people who just want to find love and happiness, and have shown me such love and generosity along the way as I have tried to find those things for myself. Thank you for all the ways you have supported me, for the ways you have believed in me, and for the ways you have put your trust in me over the years, especially with some of the most sensitive parts of your lives and your hearts. I love our relationship, and I’m excited about all the ways we are going to grow together for many, many years to come. I promise you I’ll always keep growing, and I’m trying to be braver everyday in showing you my own journey, both the highs and the lows. I believe relationships are built through connecting over impressing each other. I don’t want to impress you, I want to connect with you, and I can only do that if I present myself to you as I really am. I hope I create an environment where you feel safe to do the same with me.
