Nina West Instagram – What a ride! I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to come back to the main stage of RuPaul’s Drag Race and compete for charity this season. I had a mountain of support going in to the competition and could not have done it without my incredible team of friends, designers, artists, artisans, and creatives who pulled off a pretty incredible feat of getting me prepared for the competition. I was doing 8 shows a week in Hairspray while preparing for this chapter, often times flying out Sunday nights after our evening show to either LA or NYC for fittings to then quietly return to tour for the Tuesday night show in a new city. It was daunting, exhausting, and exhilarating all at once to think of the possibility ahead of me. I played my final show in Hairspray on June 25 in Tempe, Arizona and then went on a run around the country before settling in to LA to pack and head into sequestration on July 3rd. I say all of this to just bring to attention the amount of gratitude and sheer appreciation I have for the people who stood beside me and behind me to make it all happen. Thank you Patricia Taylor, Andrew Mason, Kyle Streng, Christian Cimoroni, John Olson, Kira Ruckman, Adam Yates, Tyler Cummins, Elliott Reiland, Aneca Lasley, Mark Kanemura, Jacob Mulhaussen, Aurora Sexton, Kalyd Odeh, Paul Christensen, Jackie Beat, Willam, Mark Byers, Jennifer Englert, among many others for really going above and beyond. Thank you to all of my designers on every look, seen and unseen. Wigs, jewelry, gowns. All of it. I know that you all worked your fingers to the bones to help me and other contestants make it there, and I am forever grateful.
