I am out of words !!
Elated to have been felicitated and celebrated for my contributions to performance art and platforming Indian cultural heritage world over by being bestowed the SWADESH SAMMAAN award at the Swadesh Conclave , 2024.
Presented by Honourable Minister for Information and Broadcasting and former Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports , Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur.
The best part is that I sang at the Vigyan Bhawan , New Delhi , in front of a much celebrated audience , a dream I had since I was very very little.
I also am very proud to have sung in my state language , A Marathi song before accepting the award , a song you all love when I sing , APSARA AALI , composed by the legendary @ajayatulofficial @atul.ajayatul sir.
I was awarded alongside stalwarts and iconic singers , performers and artistes such as @singerushauthup , @kailashkher and Sunanda Sharma ji.
To put Indian culture and performance art on the global stage is what I’ve always enjoyed doing and making sure I am always celebrating my roots whether it is New York , London , Berlin or Mumbai !
Rani is the QUEEN for all the seasons and all the reasons !
Here’s to many more real ARTISTES being celebrated for their art and artistry 🩷.
Art has no gender , no barriers and transcends borders.
As I say , when you Stop judging the artiste and enjoy the art , you enjoy it without labels and burdens !
