Aishwarya Sakhuja Instagram – 1. Dilated Eye Exam: Diabetic eye screening is important as it helps to prevent sight loss. As someone with diabetes, your eyes are at risk of damage from diabetic retinopathy. Screening can detect the condition early before you notice any changes to your vision.
2. HbA1c: The hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) test measures the amount of blood sugar (glucose) attached to your hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the part of your red blood cells that carries oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body. It is an important blood test that gives a good indication of how well your diabetes is being managed
3. Albumin To Creatinine Ratio: Urine albumin to creatinine ratio (ACR), also known as urine microalbumin, helps identify kidney disease that can occur as a complication of diabetes. If kidney disease is diagnosed early in people with diabetes, appropriate treatment can be given and its effects can be closely monitored.
4. Kidney Function Test: Diabetic kidney disease usually has no symptoms in the early stages. So it’s important to have regular tests. They can alert you and your doctor to changes in your kidneys’ health
5. Lipid Profile Test: As fat accumulates, there is an ongoing increase in the levels of plasma FFAs, which causes insulin resistance. In addition, the deficit of another product of adipose tissue (e.g., adiponectin) may contribute to increased insulin resistance.
