On World Humanitarian Day, we stand with the humanitarian sector in calling for an immediate and permanent CEASEFIRE NOW.
Almost 40,000 people have been killed in Gaza 317 days, with the total death toll estimated as being at least 186,000 by prestigious medical journal, The Lancet. 1,139 people have been killed in Israel.
In Gaza, schools have been targeted, humanitarian workers, journalists and medical professionals have been killed. There are no fully functioning hospitals in the area and 95% of the population has had no access to clean water in months.
Now people are at risk of infectious diseases like polio and cholera which are both causing health concerns in the area.
This can’t go on. It must end now.
