My family knew that my dad had #overthepaticencephalopathy, but we had no idea that his liver disease could one day have an effect on his brain. We eventually learned his liver disease led to overt hepatic encephalopathy (OHE). I wish we had known what to look for. I also wish that medication options weren’t so limited back then. But now, I’m glad to get to talk about it because there are options. Today we have Xifaxan.
