While this is described as a fiction, because names and places have been changed, it reads very much like a memoir and for that reason I find it hard to “rate”. I will say I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and would recommend it to everyone and anyone. I guarantee you will learn something not only about society but about yourself as well.
The title may suggest some sexy behind the scenes Hollywood romance. Rest assured, it is not that. Within these pages Brianne bares the truth of her addiction, unapologetically. This is the journey one takes to lead a happy, healthy lifestyle and for no one, is it an easy journey. Our main character, Roxie has reached rocked bottom and this is where her journey truly starts and honestly never ends. She walks us through the ups and downs of joining Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous and let me be the first to tell you that we could all use these rules in our day to day life.
I was fascinated with how to self-analyze and it is bookmarked for me to go back and try for myself. I loved her sheer honesty of comparing herself to someone else’s “highlight reel” and how much damage that truly inflicts upon us. Overall, I loved every page of this book. The raw truths, the sometimes embarrassing events but most of all I loved her perseverance, the ability to dig deep and know that SHE was worth fighting for.
Thank you, Brianne, for sharing this intimate part of your life in the hopes of helping others. Find the time to read this book.
