Camryn Manheim Instagram – It’s hard to believe that Lawrence Fishburne’s new play, “LIKE THEY DO IN THE MOVIES“ is a one- man show. I expected to see at least eight people come out and take a bow at the curtain call.
His masterful, chameleon-like performance brings to life many of the colorful people he’s encountered along the road, and a handful of the most influential.
Mr. Fishburne is at the top of his game. Deep, dark, charming, playful and incredibly honest and forthcoming about his complicated relationship with his mother.
The audience becomes a witness to some of the deeper and darker narratives in his life and yet you sense that he is handling it better than any of us could. Graceful, fluid, dynamic and centered, Fishburn commands the stage while you marvel at his transformations and storytelling. You can’t help but fall in love with him.
