Chloé Hayden Instagram – I am so excited and so honoured to be an ambassador for @friend_in_me_ ‘s @unmasked_ball , enabling and supporting disabled and neurodivergent kiddos to make friends and connect, a struggle that is oh so common for disabled children.
Growing up, friendship was something that I struggled so deeply with. My parents paid people to come to my birthday parties, I was the only child in my class not invited to other people’s parties, when I gave my one friend a friendship necklace she put it in the bin, a group of girls wrote me an evacuation notice from their friendship group, and on multiple occasions, girls pretended to by my friend as a prank (one time the pretend friendship ended with her calling me on the phone to rap a diss track she’d written about me bonus points for that one.)
Friendship seemed as difficult and impossible as a mission to Mars.
Friend in Me works to change that, ensuring these kids can find and form meaningful, neuroaffirmjng connections in safe environments 💛
