I fully understand why so many people dislike Aries folks. You want to remain important. You want to be remembered. You want to feel like you meant something. And we do not afford you any of that. Take care.
#SankofaSummerSchool is back for 2024!! Visit SankofaSummerSchool.com to learn all about what we have in store and see how you can register to join us. I am so deeply honored to have been called to do this work. To have so many brilliant minds joining me on this journey of liberation through education is beyond anything I ever imagined. With ferocious attacks on this exact type of education, I’m happy to create an #Afrocentric space for people to come together and get some knowledge!! This year, we are offering 10 classes with a pay-what-you-can model to increase accessibility. We believe that our community (You!) will provide and compensate our esteemed instructors. Classes are great for ages 14 so bring your kids and tell a few more. Want to donate? Check the site to see how you can support our work.

Our founder @feministajones came through to give us a historical overview of how “race”, as we use it to describe people who look different, came to be, how it’s a myth used to create systemic “racism”, and her thoughts about what “Blackness” means. And we’re back
When you cry, my world stops. I feel you. Always will.
Ten years ago I handed in my last assignment for my MSW (my thesis was already submitted). I was done. Finished. Complete. And glad to move forward with the work I’d been doing for over a decade already. I owed my company two more years in order for the degree to be free so I stayed until 2016. Then I made my way (back) to Philly. The rest was history. (I also want to point out I did this while organizing the largest demonstration against police brutality in modern US history ♈️) Not new to this. True to this.
I’m so happy that I’m able to grow my own vegetables and cook directly from my garden. My garden. My choice. My right. #WHMPartner @wateringholemedia
She’s a Black woman and identifies with her African ancestry. There are so many things that can be said in critique, like why was there a conversation hosted by the man who fought diligently for the right to rap about r@ping women and used a Black PhD to justify it by saying it’s “cultural tradition” or who later thanked Ron DeSantis for removing Black history from Florida schools, but suggesting she isn’t “Black” is just odd at this point. She visited a South Carolina barbershop, ok? What more does she need to do to prove she’s one of us? Focus on what’s important: an arms embargo and permanent ceasefire.
To my knowledge, “Halftime” is the only song recorded under the “Nasty Nas” moniker. Well, I just scored a copy of the single which was featured on the Zebrahead soundtrack. Nas’s appearance on that soundtrack was the game changer. Oh, Amy had an unreleased song called “Halftime”, too. IYKYK #collection #vinyl @blackgirlslovevinyl
