She was inspired to take up the sport after the 1996 Olympics, and qualified for the 2000 Olympic trial semifinals in New Jersey. Seeing archery on screen inspired Geena just like how films “Brave” and “The Hunger Games” inspired women of all ages to pick up a bow and arrow.
