The NYTimes and western media chased rape stories based on fabrications and reported on them around the clock for months, on all front pages, planting in people’s minds that Palestinians are rapists without evidence.
But when we have video evidence documenting the rape of Palestinians at Sde Teiman, countless testimonials and irrefutable evidence, the western media doesn’t acknowledge the heinous crime and when asked about it say the rapist should be investigated by the same military that justifies it
The base, often compared to Guantanamo, has been used to detain Palestinians from Gaza without charge. Many view the detention of soldiers as evidence of ongoing prisoner abuse.
Human rights organizations report that at least 13 prisoners, and possibly as many as 27 according to Haaretz, have died from abuse in Israeli prisons since October 7, when the current conflict began.
Right-wing Israelis, including prominent ministers and politicians, reacted angrily to the soldiers’ arrests on Monday, with a mob attempting to free them at Sde Teiman.
The soldiers were subsequently moved to another facility.
Members of Force 100 are accused of severe abuse towards Palestinian prisoners.
Israeli media reported that one prisoner required hospitalization due to injuries that prevented him from walking. Medical officials stated the injuries were not self-inflicted.
Abuse at Sde Teiman has been previously reported. A Palestinian journalist detained there described witnessing the rape of detainees.
CNN and the Associated Press have reported on the base’s conditions, citing testimonies from Israelis who worked there. They claimed Palestinians were blindfolded, beaten, held in stress positions, and some had limbs amputated due to severe injuries from prolonged handcuffing.
