Damon @damfunk and I first connected back in 2009, when I got into his @stonesthrow debut “Toeachizown” thanks to NPR music curation – ended up making a couple appearances with him, was vibin’ and dancing at his Funkmosphere in LA where it was all about the music, dancing, Dam spinning vinyl rarefied grooves not the usual obvious tunes – deep cuts – no one standing around like zombies on cell phones .. supporting each release including his alternative under the radar “Garrett” EP’s, blissful funky instrumentals, collaborations to contributing vocals on “Virtuous Progression” from his acclaimed “Invite The Light” …. his Seven Days of Funk album with Snoop the list goes on, including his scores for GTA.. I could go on. His @glydezone releases are top notch. This interview from several years ago he was speaking on a prominent figure in music that he inspired.
