Katie Piper Instagram – Todays #MindsetMonday comes from @covermybubble, she says “It’s Lillie’s 18th birthday on Thursday 💗🌈🫧 We lost her at just 1 month old after being born at 24.5wks premature. Lillie was such a fighter and after 1 week of being born, her bowel burst and she needed surgery. She had less than 10% chance of surviving and she did.
Just one week after surgery her bowel burst again further down and we faced surgery again with a less chance of survival. She got through surgery and was doing amazing, my little fighter! She makes me proud even to this day 🥺 But just two weeks later she was diagnosed with meningitis in and around the brain and we had to say goodbye.
I walked out of hospital with a little box with her belongings, thinking that was the worst of it. But then we faced the financial grief as I lost my income of £1200 into my family. We had no insurance in place, so now I shout all about Bump cover, children’s critical illness cover and income protection to help raise awareness so families have financial support if they are going through a difficult time.
We don’t want any family to suffer how we did, as we struggled for 10yrs financially after losing Lillie which made things 10times worse for us as a family. My hubby had to cycle to work sometimes as we couldn’t afford petrol, it was so tough!
We have created @covermybubble in memory of Lillie and everything I do is now in her memory. She’s my rainbow covering families with affordable insurances and every bubble covered, is a new family knowing Lillie’s name.
