Katrin Tanja Davidsdottir Instagram – I’m at a loss for words after this past weekend’s tragic events. The news of Lazar Dukic’s passing while competing at the CrossFit Games is beyond devastating, and I have been struggling for these past 4 days to find the any way to express my grief and frustration. No words seem to do it any justice at all.
I am so sorry for what happened. It’s incomprehensible that we lost Lazar, and I can’t believe we’re facing this reality. For years, athletes have raised concerns about safety—whether it’s about heatstroke, overprogramming, or other risks—but our voices haven’t been heard. Now, we’re grappling with the unimaginable consequence of those ignored warnings. All I keep wishing is that we can go back, create a different ending .. but nothing will ever bring him back. All we can hope for now is responsibility, accountability & ultimately that action will be taken within the organization that failed him.
While I didn’t know Lazar personally, his legacy as a shining light and source of inspiration has always been so apparent. He brought so much positive energy and uplifted everyone around him! His light & legacy will live on within the community forever ✨🕊️
