Ledisi Instagram – Today, I sat under a tall beautiful tree and watched two deers watch us watching them. I felt a breeze on my face, closed my eyes , said a small prayer as the wind blew through my braids and I smiled. I took several deep breaths with my hands up and I began to understand why the Vineyard is that place. My soul needs this. I haven’t had a real summer or a vacation in 4 years. I’ve been invited to all the things while being here and nothing worked out for me to attend. Canceled flights, canceled ride shares and just not so good timing.It felt like God said,”No! Rest!”
So grateful for @blackgirlfreedomfund and @drmoniquecouvson (my Soror) for partnering with me on a great event today on this island. Dr. Couvson gave us new dialogue and tools around advocating for wellness. I am so grateful to you Monique! Today was transformative. It’s only the beginning of more work like this with you.
