A new market report suggests that American interest in the southern European real estate market is driving up prices. Particularly due to the comparatively strong dollar.
And it’s particularly being felt in places like Lisbon, Portugal. The combination of foreign demand with domestic demand is especially inflationary there because of the limited supply.
Of course, not everyone is complaining, particularly the current owners and the real estate agents. The same analysis found that in the first half of this year, Lisbon was the world’s fastest growing sector for luxury home prices! With Madrid and Athens also in the top five!
