Minissha Lamba Instagram – This day 19 years ago, Yahaan released. In the wake of the tragedy of the July 26th cloud burst over Mumbai, our film too, unfortunately, washed away in the aftermath of that tragically unprecedented climate event.
Over the years tho, as people started watching the movie on tv plays, thats when the momentum on Yahaan built up. Again, it was a film ahead of its time. I’m grateful that it caught up with audiences, who have only praised the film, even upon first watch today.
To the incredibly talented Shoojit Sircar. Who made a film he believed in. Moved mountains, swam through upstream rivers, and faced fearsome lions to make this film and make it with his vision.
To chance upon this college girl from his Cadbury ad.. Taking a huge shot on someone, based on instinct. Literally putting your money behind it. You single handedly changed the course of my life. For that, i am forever grateful.
