mxmtoon Instagram – hard to put into words what these last two shows at madison square garden meant to me but here’s to trying for a brief moment!
in 2018 i played my first gig in NYC. i was opening for the opener of another artist at baby’s alright in williamsburg. the “crowd” consisted of my managers, booking agent, and my dad. in 2020 i moved to brooklyn, and last week i had the honor of stepping onstage to sing at the world’s most iconic arena for AJR’s the maybe man tour. it’s still surreal to me that i get to do any of this. i have a lot of moments where i feel like pinching myself and wondering if i’ll wake up from a seven year long dream, and i felt it especially at these shows.
i was so lucky to have my family there, friends, mentors, and the lovely people i am so fortunate to work with each day. i’m moving in the fall and i feel particularly lucky i get to bookend my chapter in new york with what will definitely be one of the most insane achievements of my life. huge thank you to my team, my band, my crew, none of this is ever possible without you. thank you new york! 🍎 | Posted on 29/Jul/2024 04:54:15
