We are looms of spiritual interconnection. Each being in our life is a thread, delicately chosen to support the creation of our souls fabric. With each thread that binds itself to our loom, wether it be through love or pain, the tissue of our spirit grows and transforms. Each new thread, each new being, adds colors and unique texture. Whilst walking through a grief I, and so many others have never experienced before, I feel grateful for all the people who have walked into my life and knitted themselves into the tapestry of my being. For those who have built me up through belonging and love and for those who have challenged me through pain and rejection. I love them both. I am grateful for them all. They all are my teachers from whom I blossom and grow. We do not stand alone. We stand with each other. Let us bring the broken many of the self into the luminous and unified one of all. As some of you know, THE PORTRAIT, got stolen on the very last day of filming. As we wrapped our final scene we found out that the majority of our raw material was gone. The next day we walked the streets where the hard drives had been taken looking for it in complete disbelief that our collective work had vanished. In the days that followed I came across a Werner Herzog’s quote ”Money doesn’t make films, you just do it…” I immediately thought of our process on this film because money had nothing to do with it. We made it in 21 days with a very thin budget BUT with the most hardworking filmmakers. This video is of them. To THE PORTRAIT team, My head keeps playing the movie behind the film. In the silence of set, I keep seeing every single one of you do what you do so well. I can still hear the sounds of something being created around me. What joy I felt during those moments as I watched you all, like a clock, work endlessly to conceive the world we actors were to inhabit. I can see your faces and name each and everyone of you with such warmth in my heart. How blessed I feel to have been witness to your work and passion. Only WE will know. No witnesses but us to ever claim our magic or our madness. That feeling will never leave me. Thank you for all that you gave. For your time, care, expertise, talent and love for this medium. It was taken from us but it found it’s way back home…and now it’s time to let it go…AGAIN… It’s not ours, it never really was.
