Paola Velez Instagram – Folks that have been on this journey with me know that I am no stranger to speaking about my own struggles with mental health. So when @southernsmokefoundation reached out to share that their initiative for accessible mental health would be rolling out in the DMV area I was filled with hope that in a few years a lot of the issues the culinary industry is currently facing will dissipate because we’re addressing a lot of the root causes head on.

It’s ok to not be ok, and it’s ok to get help. You are not alone in what you’re going through. PTSD, trauma, insecurity, work life imbalance are things we can face together as an industry.
We got you, we’re behind you, and we will get through this, together.

“Southern Smoke Foundation, a national nonprofit that serves the food and beverage (F B) community, has officially launched its Behind You Mental Health Program in partnership with George Washington University’s Center for Psychological and Community-based Services!
