Without access to CBD containing naturally occurring THC-9, my beloved Hugo would not have recovered in the spectacular way that he did from his inoperable brain tumor. It breaks my heart to imagine pet parents, in a similar situation, denied access to such a life-saving medicinal option.
I must emphasize that these hemp products are for medicinal purposes only. There is no “recreational use” of cannabinoids in industrial hemp for pets.
Sadly, the THC limits proposed in AB2223—0.25 mL per dose and 1.25 mg per package—are insufficient for maintaining therapeutic and medicinal treatments for pets. This bill will single handedly eliminate products that are providing thousands of animals with anti-convulsant, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety benefits. This would be truly tragic if it should come to pass.
