Immersed between the hills of the Murgia and the Valle d’Itria, its historic center has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and consists only of the TRULLI .
These are built with dry limestone, and conical-shaped roofs decorated with symbolic motifs, such as the moon, the sun and the cross.
Many were built in 1,400 hence over 600 years old! And you cannot build new ones in the village only outside and around, but not with the black rooftop which symbolizes the original TRULLI.
Listed among the “most beautiful villages in Italy”,a wonderful and unique village, where time seems to have stopped.
