Spencer Grammer Instagram – In a state of dress… in the liminal and transitional moments… Women are often portrayed as waiting… that’s a place I’ve never been particularly comfortable sitting in my life.
I imagine this character waiting at home for a partner who forgets she exists while he’s gone. Hoping he’ll return home soon, but those moments before he arrives are lonely and fraught with discomfort.
When we did this shoot, I wanted to exemplify versions of feminine iconography through a patriarchal subjectivity yet deconstructed through mild acts of rebellion and states of disorganization.
