Black women continue to make strides in sports we’re not often represented in, but to further the disruption, they need our support in more ways than one.
Last year, Talladega College became the second HBCU to start a gymnastics program, joining Fisk
University. Unfortunately, after a financial review, the college could no longer afford to sustain the program and is cutting it after one season.
However, team members and supporters are not giving up and launched a
crowdfund to help save the groundbreaking program and preserve a space for generations of Black athletes to come.
“We set forth on a journey to make history and we are not done yet.”
