A highlight reel in the middle of a summer trip with my family in Italy. What a memory!
And even though I LOVE this photo of us, what is not shown are the moments before.
The scurry to grab a person to quickly take a photo in 100 degree heat while the swarm of people push past, me snapping at my husband to hurry up because he’s about to mess up the shot, the kids over it and having meltdowns… and then on three ….. CHEESE!

Don’t get me wrong, this has and will be a memory for a lifetime. I feel extremely grateful and do understand my blessings to be able to do this.
We have had some of the most connective, funny, joyous moments as a family AND some of the most frustrating, over-it, desperate and not our finest moments.
But you don’t see those.
Because no one posts those.
So if you’re reading this, and looking at my feed lately, and thinking, man why am I in a hard moment and no one else during summer is… just know…they are.
Life is beautiful and maddening and stunning and sad and joyous and perfect and sucky and all those things.
And everyone feels this way, even those people on vacation.
They just aren’t posting it ❤️
