Tina Lifford Instagram – I rarely talk politics, and I am not even talking politics in this conversation. I am talking about each of us having the right to hope and live with a resonating sense of what’s possible in our lives.
Four weeks ago, after the Biden/Trump debate, there was a cloud over my sense of hope. I was unenthusiastic on both sides of the ticket. The air generally felt heavier and darker than it does today. I told myself this is where things are; our choices are between a rock and a hard place.
I could not IMAGINE a different scenario.
Then Kamala Harris’ name and endorsement changed everything. Suddenly, I was hopeful.
Over the past few weeks, I have noticed more hellos when passing strangers on my hikes. My heart feels freer, less confined, guarded, and protective.
Hope and a sense of possibility are powerful. Throughout history, they have proved to be powerful enough to change the course of humanity.
I do not lay at the feet of Kamala Harris the responsibility of my hope.
My hope belongs to me. It is mine to tend to and keep safe. The sudden change of events reminds me ALWAYS to leave room for HOPE. It has the power to kick open doors and make a way out of no way.
I do not know what the future holds. Regardless, we are all resilient. Whatever life brings, we will weather it or adapt.
But I am grateful for the opportunity to feel hope.
