Trudie Styler Instagram – This week for #femalefilmmakerfriday, I am spotlighting Anne Sewitsky, an acclaimed Norwegian film director, for her new show Presumed Innocent on @appletv!
Anne is best known for her 2010 film Happy, Happy, which garnered international attention as Norway’s submission for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 84th Academy Awards. Although it didn’t make the final shortlist, it highlighted her unique voice in film. Her 2015 film Homesick was also a notable contender, representing Norway for the 88th Academy Awards.
In television, Anne’s directorial skills shone in the 2019 Black Mirror episode Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too, as well as in the Castle Rock series, where she directed episodes like Ties That Bind and The Laughing Place.
Currently, Anne is making waves once again as one of the directors of the hit show Presumed Innocent. The show centres around a horrific murder that upends the Chicago prosecuting attorney’s office when one of its own is suspected of the crime-leaving the accused fighting to keep his family together.
