I first choreographed this piece over a year ago because I hadn’t taught an advanced class in a while and I wanted to murk some beats. After I ditched the piece for a bit because it was too hard to teach (lol), @_anthonylee_ suggested that I shoot it with a couple female dancers which pushed me to step away from my obsession with the pure beatkill in the track and play with bringing more of the track out through movement and visuals. Thank you to @ysapenarejo and @talyahejan for making the vision come to life. I’ve been wanting to dance with Ysa for a minute since we coached Diamond Bar together the past few years. Talyah is a former student of ours who always showed a unique and deep understanding of sound, movement, and visuals. It was such a pleasure to share the space with you all.
