The two things that get me HEATED: people eating random, unidentified plants AND plant misinformation 😅
*sigh* hopefully this keeps a few people from buying some bad foraging books
This issue is honestly so hard because I’ve BEEN THERE. And so many people (some of whom I now know a lil better like @alexiskrauss !) have been truly kind to me when on the receiving end of an “I love your work!” But this is about the folks who ask for phone numbers and stay and talk for an hour and take “sneaky” photos from a distance so they can brag to their friends online later and the folks who don’t even know who you are until someone recognizes you, and then suddenly won’t leave you alone. It’s for the folks who CONSTANTLY interrupt my friends and family because they’re waiting for ME to stop talking, but don’t care about my friends feelings at all. I miss festivals. I miss shopping. I miss citywide events. I miss my old gym. I miss quietly reading a book in a park. I miss not wearing makeup when I leave the house. But I skip these because 9 times out of 10 I’m not in a headspace to be uncomfortable for hours 😞 and ESPECIALLY not in a headspace to be uncomfy and have it DOCUMENTED 😭 But I also don’t know what the solution is? Idk if I’m in the mood to talk more, I’ll ask you a question after an “I love your work!” and we’ll chat! And honestly I usually want to chat with the folks who are being respectful anyway!!
